Join us on Wednesday, June 11th for our monthly summer Bike in Movie Night & Queer Comedy Show! We started movie nights in order to bring community together and spotlight some really talented makers in the Portland food scene.
This event is being filmed for a mini documentary about Side Yard Farm & all that we do. If you do not want to be on film, please email thesideyardpdx@gmail.com.
Let me introduce you to the June food vendors:
FOOD- DesiPDX is a Portland food cart located on vibrant N. Mississippi
Avenue, offering a fresh take on Indian cuisine. Chef Deepak grew up with the flavors of traditional Indian home cooking and discovered his passion for food in his early 20s. After two decades as a software developer, he followed his longtime dream in 2015 to cook professionally and share his unique culinary perspective. At DesiPDX, Indian spices and techniques are thoughtfully blended with ingredients from around the world, creating dishes that are both rooted in tradition and globally inspired. The menu is built around seasonal, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible; supporting regional farms and producers while delivering bold, balanced flavors.
Deepak’s cooking has been featured on Somebody Feed Phil and Food Truck Nation, recognized for its creativity and depth. DesiPDX is a place where tradition meets innovation one plate at a time.
SUMMER SALAD- Farm greens, pickled garlic, masala pepitas, garam masala roasted farm veggies, toasted coconut, spiced strawberry dressing. Choice of chickpea quinoa tempeh or chicken. (gf/df/sf)
RICE BOWL- Bengali 5-spice and cranberry rice, choice of chickpea quinoa tempeh or chicken, coconut milk tandoori curry sauce, spicy green chutney, tamarind-date chutney, pickled onions. (gf/df/sf)

Gabriella also has her brand sweetcreaturepdx which you can find on Instagram where she makes chamoy and also collabs with different chefs from all over. Her style of desserts are very savory and sweet and tends to use a lot of bone marrow fat in things. She feels lucky to have so many incredible farms in her backyard here in Portland.
