Spend those hot summer nights at The Side Yard Farm every second Wednesday of the month this summer. Join us on Wednesday, June 9th to kickoff Pride month here in Portland. We started movie nights in order to bring community together and spotlight some really talented makers. This June (and everyday, let's be honest) we are celebrating the queer community! This lineup of queer business owners are changing the Portland food and beverage scene and we are excited to host them. Enjoy crafty cocktails and beer by Either/Or and delicious Chinese comfort food from XLB. Cold sesame noodles with either chicken or tofu (vegan and gf options available). Oh, and the sweets! Our friend Jaclyn Nakashima of SWEET THING will be bringing the goods. Strawberry pretzel pie cups, buttermilk matcha donuts, and vegan almond peach cake! Did I mention you must ride your bike?! It's a bike in movie ya'll.
TICKET INCLUDES MOVIE, DINNER, DESSERT & A BEVERAGE. DOORS OPEN AT 7PM. MOVIE STARTS AT 830/9PM. YOU MUST BE OVER 21 TO ATTEND
**WHEN CHECKING OUT, PLEASE CHOOSE JUNE 9TH AT 7PM**NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED

**COVID GUIDELINES-PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASE**

Please arrive with you mask on, but once you take a seat and get your refreshments, you may be maskless for the duration of the event. Please bring a camping chair or blanket. Thank you

MOVIE- TO WONG FOO
You all voted and we are delivering. Elite Manhattan drag queens Vida Boheme (Patrick Swayze) and Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes) impress regional judges in competition, securing berths in the Nationals in Los Angeles. When the two meet drag novice Chi-Chi Rodriguez (John Alberto Leguizamo) -- one of the losers that evening -- the charmed Vida and Noxeema agree to take the hopeless youngster under their joined wing. Soon the three set off on a madcap road trip across America and struggle to make it to Los Angeles in time.
EITHER/OR CAFE
Ro Tam founded Either/Or in 2013 as a multi-roaster cafe featuring a selection of coffee roasters around the country as well as a menu of coffee mocktails. Last year she opened a second cafe on North Williams Ave and expanded the focus to include a full food menu and doubling the concept to a neighborhood cocktail bar in the evening. Either/Or is a safe space for POC and queer communities. They currently hosts DJ nights and will aim to have more events planned throughout the year.
XLB
XLB is a Chinese comfort food restaurant specializing in its namesake, xiao long bao. Chef Jasper Shen's menu strives to deliver no fuss "straight up Chinese food" in a casual yet thoughtfully decorated setting. Besides the signature Shanghai soup dumplings, you can also find the open kitchen cranking out bao, noodles, and stir-fries to pair with a Lucky Buddha or one of the local microbrews on tap. With 40 year old Chinese lanterns, Kung fu-inspired artwork and hand painted Chinese Zodiac wallpaper, there's no mistaking the attention to detail that went into designing XLB. Cap off a hearty meal with complimentary Jasmine tea and fortune cookies and you're sure to leave on a positive note. XLB is a counter service style restaurant.
SWEET THING
Jaclyn Nakashima was born and raised in the CITY of Chicago! She has been working in restaurants for the past 13+ years, from line cooking to pastry to catering to management. In Portland she's worked for places like Little Bird, Måurice, Le Pigeon, Tusk, and Dame. These days you can find her doing community fundraising with PDX Bakers Against Racism, the Nikkei Bake Sale, and her latest pastry pop up SWEET THING with Mason Kale Suda which you can find at Portland Flea (Sun/5/30) and Kuchen Haus Strawberry markets (6/5 and 6/12). She's always looking for ways to bring equity and community together through food! #communityovereverything
