The Okra Project is a collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by bringing home cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black Trans people wherever they can reach them. The Okra Project hires Black Trans chefs to prepare healthy and home-cooked meals for their Black TGNC siblings with no cost.  For those Black Trans folks currently experiencing homeless or whose homes cannot support our chef’s cooking, The Okra Project has partnered with institutions like UberEats, Osborne Association, and other community spaces to deliver food.Okra believes that food is not only a nourishment, but a gateway to unlimited cultural and social possibilities. MEET OUR PERFORMERS

Santiago is a trans Chilean artist on and off the stage. They have been performing for over 10 years joining every musical, play, and theatre class available. Now they channel that performing energy into the wonderful world of drag. Off the stage, they work as a tattoo artist at Voodoo Tattoo in Vancouver, Washington. They also dabble in painting, sculpting, and anything creative they can get their hands on. This is their first time performing since the pandemic has begun and they are excited to get back on that stage.

Samaya Sinsation is an eclectic drag performer passionate about authentic creative expression- drag, and singing being some of their favorite outlets. Samaya got their start in drag in Florida almost 6 years ago and since then has performed in different states for different venues. This will be their first time performing in Portland after moving here from Chicago about 5 months ago and they are really excited about it!

Max Little
Max Little is a trans drag king and producer who makes performance art about (gay) masculinities, and also knows how to party. As the Father of the Lil’ Haus of Little, Max is still Portland's Most Eligible Single Gay Dad Bachelor(TM). He also produces and acts in drag adaptions of Broadway musicals as part of Max & Mars Productions, and is working on his first original trans musical. Ask him about it, and follow at @lilmaxlittle on IG to see it all unfold!

Originally getting zer start in Boise, where zey performed numbers inspired by J-Pop, trans Asian identity, and feminism, Jyo is thrilled to be now in Portland and supporting zer farmer partner Gaia for this show! Be prepared to be transported to escapist, intergalactic planes~

Gaia Indica is a gender fluid and nonbinary identifying earth goddess who loves to connect humans to the magic of the natural world and earth via drag, farming, and food. They are a recent transplant to the Portland area and are grateful to have found some lovely roots at the Side Yard Farm and Kitchen. If you look around the farm, chances are that Gaia has had a literal hand in making sure the flowers bloomed and the fruit and veggies swell in abundance.
