THE BAND

PRIZES- Prizes, formed in 2019 by Anna Diem and Emily Kingan, play lyrically driven songs, borrowing inspiration from many musical genres including pop, folk, rock, and electronic. The songs take the listener to a vivid, emotional place, riding in the back of a truck, or making out in your underwear. Diem started writing and recording songs when she was 15, later moving to New York to attend the School of Audio Engineering. She now lives in a cabin in the woods in southern Oregon where she writes and records in her home studio. Kingan has been playing in bands since the 1990s, forming the punk band, the Haggard, in 1998. The Haggard toured the US, Europe, Australia and Brazil, and released two albums before splitting up in 2003. Later Kingan joined the electronic pop band Lovers, releasing two albums with the band and touring the US and Europe several times between 2008 and 2014. Prizes enjoys collaboration with other queer artists and writers. They have co-written songs with queer writers Trenna Sharpe and Zeyah Roge. Their first release, Summertime, was mixed and mastered by Melissa Dyne of the Blow. Prizes has several recordings in the works, to be released this fall. **Guest musician Hannah Smith-Keller

THE COLLAB CHEF

Risa Lichtman is the chef & owner of Lepage Food & Drinks in Portland, Ore. You can find her seasonal menus popping up at restaurants and farms throughout the Portland area, or through Lepage’s weekly rotating meal delivery. The food is seasonal Jewish and Mediterranean-inspired comfort food, sometimes done fancy and sometimes done homey because they love a bit of both. Risa is the lead organizer of the Portland chapter of Queer Soup Night, which gathers queer community and allies over food-centered events and raises funds for local grassroots organizations. She believes in using food as a means for resistance and activism, participating in mutual aid, and strengthening community.

THE STAND UP COMICS

COMIC #1 & HOST- MX. DAHLIA BELLE is a writer, comedian, sometimes model, and accidental activist based in Portland, OR. She has been a frequent contributor to The Stranger and Portland Mercury, repeat guest on NPR's Think Out Loud and local news outlets speaking on a variety of issues affecting Black, Queer, and neurodivergent communities. She has also performed at Portland Queer Comedy Festival, NW Black Comedy Festival, All Jane Comedy Festival, and HaHa Harvest Fest.

COMIC #2- Samhita Reddy is a chicken-keeper, a non-profit fundraiser, and bike/ bus/ foot/ anything-but-car commuter. She's a PDX native who spent most of her adulthood in New York before landing back in Portland again; thankfully, this makes it easy for her to make fun of people who take themselves too seriously on either coast.

COMIC #3- Riley McCarthy is a sober, queer, writer and comic from Madison WI by way of Portland OR. He has been a finalist in Portland’s Funniest Person, has been named one of Portland Mercury’s “Undisputed Geniuses of Comedy” and has performed in comedy festivals around the country. Riley is a storyteller whose work is whimsical, optimistic and honest.

HEADLINER- Katie Nguyen is a writer and comedian living in Portland, Oregon. Her writing has been featured in The New Yorker, you can hear her stand-up on SiriusXM radio, and she is a regular at Helium Comedy Club. Katie teaches comedy classes at Helium and Portland Center Stage. She has twice been chosen as one of the Portland Mercury's Geniuses of Comedy, and was recently named the winner of Willamette Week's Funniest Five.
