Receive 24 weeks of organically grown urban produce starting in May and ending in October. Choosing to become a Side Yard Farm CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) member also means you are giving back to your community. This season, our little farm is proud to be partnering with Equitable Giving Circle to provide 5 BIPOC families in need with a CSA share all season long. You have a choice in purchasing a regular CSA share OR pay a bit extra to help gift these families a share. That's about $40 per week for fresh produce grown in the city, PLUS contributing to sponsoring 5 deserving families.
Why join a CSA? By joining a CSA, you are investing in our farm and becoming part of our family. By paying for your produce in full at the beginning of the season, you are helping us keep the farm going for another year. There will be weeks that will challenge you with produce you've never seen before, but don't you worry, you will receive a recipe from Chef/Farmer Stacey Givens in every box. Have you always wanted to try cardoons, celtuce, borage greens, shiso, green coriander seeds? CSA shares are limited, get one while you can!
WHAT'S IN YOUR SHARE? Each week you will receive a box loaded full of different vegetables & herbs. Shares will be smaller in the spring and becoming larger in the summer and fall seasons.
Greens: kale, chard, collards, lettuce mix, head lettuce, arugula, spring mix, pea shoots, asian greens, borage greens, mustards, etc.
Roots: radishes, green garlic, carrots, turnips, onions, potatoes, fennel, beets, sunchokes, etc.
Seasonal: tomatoes, cardoons, rhubarb, peppers, cukes, beans, celtuce, gherkins, ground cherries, radish pods, summer squash, etc.
Herbs: basil, shiso, lovage, thyme, savory, caraway, edible flowers, oregano, rau ram, lemon verbena, etc.
